Game Music Sweep Record Game Music

Tecmo Arcade Game Chronicle brings together the company's arcade music, films and development archive in a collection produced with the manufacturer's full cooperation. It traces games from Pleiades, Tecmo's debut, through Bomb Jack, Star Force, Ganbare Ginkun and other arcade titles. Licensed melodies, unused pieces and sound effects accompany the game music. Ham-kun's original performer returns after nineteen years for a newly recorded contribution, and Sukinanoni from CR Urusei Yatsura 2 receives a remastered presentation.

Former Tecmo composers reunite at their old base in Ichikawa for a roundtable on the history of the company's game music. They reveal stories behind the sound and share memories in a freewheeling conversation.

The gameplay films uncover rare footage of the unreleased Au, preserved on a single surviving development board. Star Force follows the pursuit of Cleopatra and ten million points, while Rygar showcases advanced play, including bonus scoring while evading the enemy designed to prevent endless play in stage seventeen.

The archive opens up development drawings, early ideas and planning material preserved within Tecmo. It also gathers original game image boards without their logos, domestic and overseas arcade flyers, and strategy booklets prepared for arcade locations. Together, the music, performances and documents offer a view of the games from their development to their life in arcades.
