THE ALFEE/THE ALFEE 1986 8.3 SWEAT & TEARS TOKYO BAY-AREA<レストア版>
The excitement of the summer 1986 “100,000-person concert” returns forty years later in a restored release.
Having celebrated fifty years since their debut, rock band THE ALFEE has continued to make an impact across music and entertainment. This release revisits their enormous open-air performance in the area known in 1986 as Tokyo Bay Reclaimed Land No. 13, now Odaiba.
Held on August 3, 1986, the event drew 92,500 people and was described at the time as Japan's first solo concert for 100,000 spectators. Large outdoor music festivals were still uncommon, and the event transformed ideas of what a concert could be. It has since become a legendary performance in Japanese concert history, widely known throughout the entertainment world.
The young trio's dramatic performances are a highlight, as they race freely across an immense stage measuring 120 metres wide and 75 metres high. The moving encore singalong of ROCKDOM - Kaze ni Fukarete - still resonates.
This unprecedented concert from forty years ago has been restored as far as possible to recapture its vivid atmosphere. A rare opportunity to experience a historic live performance on screen, released on the fortieth anniversary of that unforgettable day.
