The Confidence Man JP Trilogy Blu-ray Box

The hugely popular television drama The Confidence Man JP comes together in a trilogy box featuring its theatrical films: Romance, released in 2019, Princess, released in 2020, and Heroes, released in 2022.

With greed and money as its themes, the series follows three confidence artists, Dako, Bokuchan and Richard. Against the glamorous worlds of different industries, they devise grand, wildly inventive schemes to swindle enormous sums from people consumed by desire in exhilarating entertainment.

Romance: Dako, Bokuchan, Richard and Igarashi are seasoned confidence artists who boldly and elegantly keep deceiving their targets. Their next mark is Ran Liu, the empress of the Hong Kong mafia, nicknamed the Ice Princess for her ruthlessness. The trio travels to Hong Kong in pursuit of the legendary purple diamond she is said to own.

They try every trick to win Ran over, but she refuses to take the bait. Then the brilliant con artist Jessie appears, and they discover that he too is targeting Ran. The shadow of Akaboshi, a Japanese yakuza who bears a grudge after being conned by Dako’s group, begins to loom, and events become impossible to predict. Who will win this three-way battle of deception? The greatest con game yet begins.

Princess: Raymond Fuu, head of one of the world’s wealthiest families, has died. As his children Bridget, Christopher and Andrew clash over the inheritance, their butler Tony announces an unexpected heir: Michelle Fuu, a secret child whose existence none of them knew.

While the search for Michelle continues, con artists from around the world gather on the legendary island of Langkawi, each claiming to be her and seeking a fortune said to be worth ten trillion yen. Dako, Bokuchan and Richard infiltrate the Fuu family and prepare a dazzling, extraordinarily bold con—or so they intend. Instead, the seasoned confidence artists face their greatest crisis. Who will become head of the Fuu family? A deception drawing in the whole world begins.

Heroes: The third Tsuchinoko, a con artist hailed as a hero, has died. Dako, Bokuchan and Richard once honed their skills under him. The three now enter a serious contest for the title Tsuchinoko, secretly passed down among the finest confidence artists of each generation.

The setting is Valletta on Malta, a World Heritage city that attracts celebrities from across the globe. Their target is Dancing Venus, an elusive ancient Greek sculpture owned by a retired Spanish mafia member who amassed a vast fortune. Each approaches the mark in a different way, but the police and even Interpol are closing in. Who will have the last laugh?

Romance extras include trailers and television commercials. Princess adds a short introduction to The Confidence Man JP, special footage and a special video for Official Hige Dandism’s “Laughter.” Heroes includes trailers, television commercials, the short series introduction, comment footage and a special video for Official Hige Dandism’s “Anarchy.” These reproduce the bonus programmes from the respective films’ earlier standard Blu-ray editions.
