The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious Animation

Yuuri, the young master of a small country manor, has recently hired a maid. Lilith is serious and hardworking, yet he finds her deeply suspicious. He knows neither where she comes from nor what she wants. Her work is almost unnaturally good, her cooking and laundry are frighteningly perfect, and her purple eyes seem to draw him in.

Convinced that Lilith must be plotting something, Yuuri becomes so preoccupied that he cannot concentrate on anything else. Wakame Konbu’s comedy follows a once-lonely boy and the mysterious maid who suddenly enters his life as they gradually build a bond, with her teasing and his candid responses repeatedly turning the tables.

Adapted from the manga serialized in Monthly Gangan Joker, which had exceeded five hundred thousand copies including digital editions at the time of the anime’s promotion, the series began broadcasting in July 2022. Its opening song, “Su, Suki Janai!,” marked the first anime tie-in for ≠ME, the twelve-member idol group produced by Rino Sashihara. Yui Horie performs the ending song, “Himitsu no Niwa no Futari.”

The complete-series box includes the expanded pre-broadcast television special with previously unseen scenes, featuring Saori Hayami, Rie Takahashi, Nanaka Tomita and Mirei Suganami. The expanded pre-finale web-radio special with Hayami and Takahashi adds previously unreleased segments. Creditless opening and ending sequences, promotional videos and the next-episode preview collection complete the supplementary programme. A three-sided sleeve newly illustrated by Konbu and a special booklet are included.
