The Rising of the Shield Hero Anime

An indomitable fantasy of rising against the odds. Ordinary university student Naofumi Iwatani is summoned to another world as the Shield Hero, one of the Four Cardinal Heroes.

Despite suffering persecution after being falsely accused, he has worked with his precious companions Raphtalia, Filo and Melty to protect people from the Waves, calamities that threaten the world. Thanks to his achievements and the help of Melromarc's queen, his reputation is restored and he obtains his own territory. He begins preparing for the next Wave.

But the revival of the Spirit Tortoise, a monster that brings unprecedented disasters, is confirmed in the Spirit Tortoise Kingdom east of Melromarc. Asked by the queen to defeat it, Naofumi travels there with new companion Rishia. As the allied forces gather, Ost Horai suddenly appears before him. She is both a concubine of the kingdom's king and its regent.

Ost tells Naofumi that someone has improperly revived the Spirit Tortoise. Can he defeat it and reach the mastermind? The Shield Hero rises again to protect what matters to him.
