Brian Tyler returns as composer. Drawing on his experience with major Hollywood productions, he places a full orchestra at the centre of the score while weaving in motifs from Koji Kondo's original game music. The result balances the series' familiar appeal with the scale of a cinematic score.

This Japanese standard edition contains two CDs in colours representing Mario and Luigi: red and green. It also includes liner notes by Rolling Uchizawa, offering a closer look at the work.
