The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes Animation

I am going to see you as you were that day.

Enthusiastically embraced by film and anime fans in Japan and overseas, The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes comes to Blu-ray. This animated feature adapts Mei Hachimoku’s novel, published by Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko. His debut novel won both the Gagaga Prize and the Judges’ Special Award at the thirteenth Shogakukan Light Novel Awards. The adaptation combines expressive visual storytelling with intricate, dramatic character artwork.

The Urashima Tunnel: enter it, and you can obtain anything you desire. But in exchange…

Kaoru Tono appears difficult to read, yet he carries the emotional scars of an accident in his past. Beneath her determined attitude, Anzu Hanashiro struggles with the gap between who she is and her own ideal self. The two agree to work together to investigate the mysterious tunnel and obtain what they want.

Set in a quiet rural town, this is an unforgettable summer story of nostalgia and headlong momentum.

Video extras include the theatrical trailer, teaser and commercials. An audio commentary with the creative team is also included.
