The Twelve Kingdoms Artbooks

The Twelve Kingdoms Animation Design Artbook collects Akihiro Yamada's artwork for the adaptation, including nearly one hundred character designs with handwritten commentary. Color illustrations for Blu-ray and DVD packaging and other related releases join the designs in a collection of approximately 150 images, with a newly drawn cover.

Reflections by Fuyumi Ono and Yamada accompany interviews with four voice cast members and the production staff. A contribution from scriptwriter Sho Aikawa adds another view of the creative process. This Japanese-language artbook is published by Shinchosha.
