TOKYO MER Mobile Emergency Room The Movie Standard Blu-ray

To save every life, those heroes—the medical team—are back! With more than 4.5 billion yen at the Japanese box office and over 3.4 million admissions, the biggest live-action hit of the first half of 2023 arrives on Blu-ray and DVD.

TOKYO MER, which has saved countless lives in dangerous situations, is dispatched this time to Minato Mirai in Yokohama. An unexpected, enormous fire breaks out in the city’s landmark tower. The newly established elite medical team YOKOHAMA MER also appears, with its vivid light-blue ER vehicle, Y 01.

TOKYO MER is an emergency medical team reporting directly to Tokyo’s governor. Its large ER vehicle, fitted with an operating room, rushes to accident and disaster sites, where the team fights for patients without regard for its own danger. It has only one mission: let no one die.

An explosion at Yokohama’s Landmark Tower creates an unprecedented emergency, with thousands fleeing in panic. “There are lives we cannot save just by waiting,” says chief doctor Kitami, insisting that they should reach the scene immediately. Chief doctor Kamoi of YOKOHAMA MER, the coldly professional elite team newly established by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, confronts him with the opposite belief: “Unless we wait somewhere safe, we will lose the ability to save even the lives we could have saved.”

On the 70th floor,193 people are stranded. Explosions trigger further explosions as flames close in. Seriously injured people multiply amid the confusion, but the flames and smoke prevent rescue helicopters from approaching. The situation is desperate. Kitami then discovers that Chiaki, whom he has remarried, is also trapped in the building. She is in late pregnancy and faces the risk of premature birth.

Amid this hopeless situation, Kitami recalls the tragedy in which he lost his beloved younger sister Suzuka. He will not let anyone else die. This is a story of courage and bonds between medical workers who confront mortal danger.
