Toshiki Kadomatsu Stage & Musicals

MILAD brings music live performance, acting and dance together in a new form of entertainment. Toshiki Kadomatsu’s ambitious project, conceived as a culmination of his creative work, reached the stage in 2022 and 2023.

The Beginning, performed in September 2022, follows young people and their struggles on the streets of the 1980s. Final Chapter, presented in an extended form in September 2023 after decades of development, takes place thirty-three years later.

A huge two-level stage places twenty live musicians above the actors and dancers, whose performances unfold beneath the music. Giving musicians and performers their own moments in the spotlight creates a theatrical experience distinct from a conventional musical. Enjoy this unusual fusion of music, dance and drama through both productions, accompanied by trailers, after-talks, documentary and interview footage.
