Ukiyo Tokyo - Graphical Tokyo: 200 Art Reinterpretations
浮世東京 -graphical tokyo- グラフィックで魅せる200のアート新解釈
Ukiyo Tokyo - Graphical Tokyo gives fleeting online artwork a new form through graphic design. Original illustrations by two hundred artists are paired with two hundred reinterpretations on facing pages, allowing the source image and its transformation to be considered together.
Some designs intensify the original world, while others move away from its initial meaning and rebuild it through a designer's intuition. Concept notes explain the choices behind each work. Flat-opening codex binding and wide-gamut printing support the full-page artwork across 408 pages. A cover illustration by tamimoon and design by Panasony introduce this Japanese-language R11R collection, published by Shoeisha.
