Uncle from Another World Anime

An uncle returned from another world tells a story of blood, tears and, sometimes, video games! The hit manga, with more than two million copies in circulation at the time of the announcement, becomes a television anime.

This is the third Blu-ray volume of Uncle from Another World.

Takehito Koyasu plays the uncle, an incomparable SEGA fan who spent the 17 years of his coma travelling in another world. Jun Fukuyama plays his nephew Takafumi. Mikako Komatsu plays Takafumi's childhood friend Sumika Fujimiya; Haruka Tomatsu plays Elf, an elven adventurer the uncle encountered in the other world; Aki Toyosaki plays the beginner adventurer Alicia Edelsia; and Aoi Yuki plays Mabel Rayveil, a descendant of the ice clan.

Story: Autumn 2017. An uncle who was hit by a truck at the age of 17 wakes after spending the following 17 years in a coma. Visiting his hospital room, his nephew Takafumi finds him muttering incomprehensible words and saying that he has returned from the other world of Granbahamal. His uncle has apparently lost his mind. Takafumi is speechless, but the uncle uses magic to prove that he really was in another world. Deciding that they can earn a living by turning these powers into money, Takafumi takes in his uncle, who has no one else to rely on, and they start sharing a home.

Living with him, Takafumi hears tales of adventures in the other world and an overflowing love of SEGA. At times he rejoices, and at times his heart aches, as he learns about the lonely and harsh first half of his uncle's life. Two men from different generations work at video streaming in a corner of an apartment complex: a new kind of other-world comedy unfolds!
