Utrecht brings together vocalist Fukan Neko and sound director Anonymity., an anonymous musical unit that began releasing music in January 2023. Pessimist is its first album, following a sequence of digital songs. Taking its name from a sense of pessimism and disillusionment, it stands beside the vulnerable while exploring resignation to life and attachment to it from different perspectives and situations.
The eight-song compact album includes contributions from DECO*27 and HoneyWorks, two creators at the forefront of online music. Nakimushi Schrodinger, the opening theme for the television drama Inu to Kuzu, also appears. Illustrator Mai Yoneyama provides newly drawn cover artwork.
