Vinland Saga Anime

A new millennium dawns in southern Denmark's Jutland Peninsula. After the death of his nemesis Askeladd, Thorfinn has lost his purpose in life. Bought as a slave by landowner Ketil, he works to clear land on Ketil's farm. Meeting Einar, another young man reduced to slavery, leads him to confront his own sins and discover a reason to live. Meanwhile Canute, crowned King of England, plans to expand his territory further to build a paradise. This is the saga of a true warrior—the saga of atonement and salvation beyond the prologue.

The upper-volume box contains episodes 1–12. The cast features Yuto Uemura as Thorfinn, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Einar, Kensho Ono as Canute, Mayumi Sako as Arnheid, Yu Hayashi as Olmar, Hideaki Tezuka as Ketil, Taiten Kusunoki as Thorgil, Fuminori Komatsu as Snake, Mugihito as Sverkel, Yoji Ueda as Leif and Akio Otsuka as Thorkell.

The jacket is newly illustrated by character designer and chief animation director Takahiko Abiru, and a Vinland Saga Season 2 special booklet is enclosed. Video extras include textless opening and ending sequences and promotional videos. Special audio commentary on episode 4, Awakening, features Yuto Uemura and Shunsuke Takeuchi.

The two region-free Blu-rays run approximately 308 minutes in 1080p with Japanese Linear PCM stereo audio and no subtitles.
