Hidari selected more than 150 illustrations for vioLet, the artist's first collection, ranging from early work to recent pieces. Detailed drawing and restrained colour connect original illustrations with anime-related art, book illustrations and cover artwork.
Featured projects include Vocaloid, Usotsuki Mii-kun to Kowareta Maa-chan, The Magnificent Kotobuki, Sasami-san@Ganbaranai, Schrodinger no Neko Sagashi, Touhou Project, Natsuiro Kiseki, Naruno Mix, Phantom in the Twilight, Fractale, ROOMMATE and Record of Lodoss War. A short interview closes the main volume.
The 160-page artbook is paired with leafLet, a 32-page collection centred on character designs and rarely seen illustrations; together the two books contain more than 200 images. Both fit in a clear polypropylene storage case. The cover uses an expanded-colour-gamut printing process intended to bring the printed colours closer to the artist's digital originals. Published by GOT, this is the Japanese-language physical edition.
