Wadake no Otokotachi Blu-ray Box

A glimpse inside this household reveals Japan in the Reiwa era. A son reporting for an online news site, a father working in television news and a grandfather who once wrote for a newspaper come together in an unusual, all-male family drama about three generations of the media, created by Shizuka Oishi.

During the pandemic, Yu Wada loses the company where he has worked for fourteen years and starts making deliveries. One day, a delivery brings him face to face with his father Shuhei, a television newsman, and his grandfather Kan, a former newspaper reporter. He has been out of touch with both for several years.

At Kan and Shuhei’s suggestion, the three begin living together. As Yu watches his father and grandfather debate what journalism should be, Shosei Mitsumura, a younger acquaintance from his university seminar, invites him to become an online news writer. Yu assumes his reporting will never overlap with his father’s, but an unexpected incident connects their worlds.

The box includes making-of footage, the production announcement press conference, the spin-off drama Wadake no Otokotachi: Another Story, a social-media countdown video collection and promotional spots. A booklet accompanies the digipak and three-sided outer case.
