West Side Story: Original Broadway Cast Recording and Original Film Soundtrack brings together the stage and screen origins of Leonard Bernstein's landmark musical.

Alongside his energetic conducting career, Bernstein wrote numerous musical-theater successes. This modern Romeo and Juliet has been widely loved since its 1957 premiere. Disc one features the original Broadway performers and the orchestral Symphonic Dances conducted by Bernstein himself.

Disc two presents the soundtrack to the 1961 film directed by Robert Wise, later known for The Sound of Music, and starring Natalie Wood and George Chakiris. Its soundtrack spent 54 weeks atop the Billboard album chart. The film won ten Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and supporting-acting awards for Chakiris and Rita Moreno. This two-disc set gathers the work's foundational recordings in Blu-spec CD2 format.
