With You and the Rain Limited Edition Blu-ray Box

One rainy day, a woman and an animal meet. Adapted from Ko Nikaido’s manga, which surpassed 500,000 copies in circulation and found an enthusiastic following on social media, With You and the Rain brings the warmth of Weekly Young Magazine’s popular series to animation. It joins TV Asahi’s nationwide, 24-station NUMAnimation line-up, known for titles such as Medalist and Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary. Saori Hayami plays Fuji in a gentle, restorative story about a woman and a self-proclaimed dog who are probably good friends, even if something about their relationship is a little unusual.

Director Tomohiro Tsukimisato, whose work includes Tanuki and Kitsune and How Clumsy You Are, Miss Ueno, teams with series composer Toko Machida, known for Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan and Smile Down the Runway. Character designer Ayano Owada previously served as an animation director on Black Butler: Book of Circus and Teasing Master Takagi-san 3. Lesprit produces the animation.

On her rain-soaked walk home, Fuji encounters a slightly strange “dog.” It holds up a card asking her to take it home and offers her a folding umbrella. Yet perhaps “strange” does not quite explain this dog. An unusual companion enters her ordinary days, and together they experience the changing seasons: eating, going out and talking—or something like it. Their small wish for just a little more time together makes this probably friendly life shared by a woman and an animal quietly precious.

This limited edition includes a three-sided case newly illustrated by character designer Ayano Owada and animal character designer Kyo Yatate, a special digipak and booklet. Cast commentaries accompany episodes 1 and 12, featuring Saori Hayami and Anna Mugiho. Video extras include the AnimeJapan 2025 special stage with the principal cast and host Naoko Kubota, a creditless opening, a collection of creditless endings and promotional videos.
