WONK Eyes Special 3DCG Live Blu-ray

WONK’s first Blu-ray captures the complete virtual 3DCG concert held on August 22, 2020 to express the world of their album Eyes. Presented at the time as a world-first virtual 3DCG live event, the performance unfolds on an immense scale within a specially created universe.

The experimental soul band brings together players, producers and engineers active in soul, jazz, hip-hop and rock. Its members have written, remixed and performed for artists across genres and generations. Released on June 17, 2020, Eyes is a concept album about an increasingly advanced information society, diverse values and the cosmos. When the planned nationwide release tour was postponed because of COVID-19, the members devised this live-streamed performance themselves.

Modelled in 3DCG as avatars, the band performs in a virtual space built around the imagined film Eyes. Conceived to exploit the extraordinary scale possible in streaming, the complete performance is accompanied by the members’ full-length picture-in-picture video commentary.
