Yoko Takahashi YOKO Sings Forever CD
高橋洋子/YOKO SINGS FOREVER
YOKO Sings Forever celebrates twenty-five years since Yoko Takahashi’s debut, tracing her career through familiar favourites, new recordings and previously unreleased songs.
Takahashi had already worked as a backing vocalist and studio musician before her 1991 debut. At the time of this release, her professional career had reached its thirty-second year. She expresses gratitude for the encounters that sustained her and for everyone who worked beyond ordinary professional obligations to make the album possible.
Songwriters, composers, arrangers, musicians and senior colleagues contributed comments, alongside her own reflections on the songs. Commercial jingles from her studio-musician years also form part of the permanent audio programme.
Through daily practice and a fresh perspective on both music and herself, she has come to feel how a way of living becomes a song. She dedicates this record with gratitude to everyone she has encountered, looking back on the path so far and ahead to continuing to sing.
