Yosuke Inoue encounters five distinct musical personalities on Who's Who, a jazz album looking at both the present and the next generation. The title suggests a directory of notable people: one of Japan's leading jazz bassists has chosen five pianists with an eye on where the music is now and where it is going.
Standards form the basis for trio interplay, with Inoue's discerning ear and openness vividly expressed through musical conversation. Inoue plays bass with Ryutaro Gotoh on drums, joined across the album by pianists Tadataka Unno, Shota Watanabe, Otohito Fuse, Sora Ichikawa and Hatsune Hirakura.
