Yowamushi Pedal Stage & Musicals

Sakamichi Onoda, a lonely anime fan newly enrolled at Sohoku High School in Chiba, joins the bicycle racing club after a chance meeting with fellow first-years Shunsuke Imaizumi and Shokichi Naruko. Discovering the appeal of road racing and developing an extraordinary talent, he earns a place at the Inter-High alongside the friends and senior teammates he has met through cycling.

The three-day competition begins in Enoshima, Kanagawa. After a fierce opening-day battle against champions Hakone Academy and Kyoto Fushimi, home to the formidable Midousuji, all three schools finish together. Sohoku appears to have made a promising start towards the title, until Tadokoro suddenly falls ill just after the race. Day two, the longest stage of the competition, opens under gathering clouds.

The production was performed at Tokyo’s Tennozu Galaxy Theatre from March 1 to 10, 2024. Its bonus making-of footage follows rehearsals and life backstage, and a booklet accompanies the performance.
