Yuki Kaji Kiku Atarimae Poem Drama CD
聴く、あたりまえポエム
A comforting voice CD pairs a lovely voice with wonderfully meaningless lines that invite a quiet chuckle. It grew out of the social-media phenomenon #AtarimaePoem, created by Yusuke Ujita. A trailer in which Yuki Kaji read from Ujita’s book Atarimae Poem: If I Hold My Breath in Front of You, I Can No Longer Breathe attracted attention and inspired this audio release.
Kaji takes on ten different roles in short scenes, including a secret crush, a helpful senior, an adventurous shonen hero and a god offering advice. Each role has its own self-contained stories, with the relationship gradually becoming closer. Every scene ends with an Atarimae Poem: an obvious observation delivered as a soothing final line.
The dramatic background music accompanies the changing situations, while the bonus reading returns to the original book.
