Based on the history of the destroyer Yukikaze, this wartime drama follows the people who fought to bring their comrades home. Through the battles of Midway, Guadalcanal, the Solomons and the Marianas, the ship repeatedly survives and rescues men cast into the sea. Its reputation as a lucky ship rests on human decisions: the calm captain's exceptional handling of the vessel and the rapid judgment of a senior petty officer trusted by the crew.

The two men sometimes clash, but their shared responsibility gradually builds mutual respect. As Yukikaze heads toward the Battle of Leyte Gulf, survival depends on that trust. The story traces lives shaped by the Pacific War and the turbulent years that connect it to the postwar world and the present.

Yutaka Takenouchi stars with Hiroshi Tamaki, Daiken Okudaira, Ami Toma, Takahiro Fujimoto, Masaki Miura, Keiya Yamauchi, Takahiro Kawaguchi, Taiki Nakabayashi, Mio Tanaka, Rena Tanaka, Toru Masuoka, Kanji Ishimaru and Kiichi Nakai. Uru performs the original theme song Tegami.

The Blu-ray presents the approximately 120-minute film and five minutes of video extras, including an early teaser, a second teaser, the main trailer and television spots. Japanese Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and Linear PCM stereo audio are included, along with Japanese audio description and optional Japanese accessibility subtitles.
