Yukite Kaheranu Blu-ray

In Taisho-era Kyoto, twenty-year-old aspiring actress Yasuko Hasegawa meets seventeen-year-old student Chuya Nakahara. Drawn to one another despite their guarded bravado, they begin living together and eventually move to Tokyo. When literary critic Hideo Kobayashi visits their home, Yasuko sees the close bond between two men who recognise and admire each other's talent. Feeling left behind by their creative intimacy, she finds herself drawn into an increasingly complicated triangle when Kobayashi begins to appreciate her own charisma and promise as an actress.

Suzu Hirose plays Yasuko alongside Taisei Kido as Nakahara and Masaki Okada as Kobayashi. The supporting cast includes Shunsuke Tanaka, Tortoise Matsumoto, Kumi Takiuchi, Tamiyo Kusakari, Shinsuke Kato, Sawako Fujima and Tasuku Emoto. Directed by Kichitaro Negishi from a screenplay by Yozo Tanaka, the film features music by Taro Iwashiro and the theme song "Humor" by Tatsuya Kitani.

The disc includes behind-the-scenes footage, appearances from the completion screening, a discussion event, the release celebration and a thank-you screening, a reading of "Yukite Kaheranu: Kyoto", and trailers and promotional spots. The Japanese soundtrack is accompanied by Japanese audio description and accessible Japanese subtitles.
