Bibliophile Princess Anime

The popular series, originally announced as having surpassed three million copies in circulation, receives its long-awaited television anime adaptation! A romantic fantasy of misunderstandings surrounding a book-loving noblewoman.

Eliana, the daughter of a marquis, has been absorbed in books since childhood. Her nickname is Bibliophile Princess rather than simply bookworm. Crown Prince Christopher says to this unusual princess, "I want you to become engaged to me." Their engagement will free Christopher from factional struggles at court, while Eliana, as the crown prince's fiancée, will be allowed to enter the royal library. It was supposed to be an engagement in name only, for their mutual benefit. Four years later, Eliana witnesses Christopher talking affectionately with Irene, the daughter of a viscount. Eliana prepares herself for the moment when their engagement will finally end, but complicated feelings are crossing through her heart. In this romantic fantasy of misunderstandings surrounding a book-loving noblewoman, where will Eliana and Christopher's true love lead?

Reina Ueda plays the book-loving protagonist Eliana, known as the Bibliophile Princess. Ryohei Kimura plays her fiancé Christopher, and Koki Uchiyama plays Christopher's aide Alexei. Popular male voice actors including Yuma Uchida, Wataru Hatano and Gen Sato support them.

The original first-production announcement advertised a special outer case, a digipack with newly drawn anime artwork, and a special booklet containing a newly written story by original author Yui. The specialist catalogue now marks these first-press inclusions, and its external B 5 illustrated envelope-case gift, as no longer available. These historical extras are excluded from the contents promised for this regular listing.

Regular video extras are the creditless opening and ending and the cast bonus programme Ryohei Kimura and Yohei Azakami's Royal Accomplishments! A Horse-Riding Experience. It features Ryohei Kimura as Christopher Selkirk Asherald and Yohei Azakami as Irvin Orlanza, with narration by Reina Ueda as Eliana Bernstein. The programme has the same content as the version released on YouTube. Includes episodes 1–4.

The original broadcast began October 6, 2022. The announced Japanese schedule was AT-X on Thursdays at 21:00, with repeats on Mondays at 09:00 and Wednesdays at 15:00; TOKYO MX on Thursdays at 23:30; Kansai TV on Thursdays at 26:55; and BS NTV on Thursdays at 24:30. d Anime Store was announced as the exclusive fastest stream, preceding terrestrial television, from October 6 each Thursday at 23:30. The original announcement noted that broadcast and streaming dates and times could change.
