Story Christopher: "I want you to be engaged to me." The marquis's daughter Elianna has been absorbed in books since childhood, earning the nickname Bibliophile Princess. Crown Prince Christopher asks this unusual young woman to become his fiancée. The engagement frees Christopher from the court's factional struggles, while Elianna gains access to the royal library as the crown prince's intended bride. It was supposed to be an engagement in name only, serving their mutual interests. Four years later, Elianna sees Christopher talking affectionately with Irene, a viscount's daughter. Resigning herself to the prospect that the engagement will finally be broken off, Elianna finds herself overwhelmed by complicated feelings. Where will her and Christopher's true love lead?
