Wounded because they are friends; drawing blades because they are friends! The fifth television-anime season of the hugely popular supernatural battle action arrives.

Coin-shaped bombs are exposed in the Sky Casino. One explodes in the city, and amid the chaos, the end begins. The name of these vile criminals is the Armed Detective Agency. Caught in the Decay of the Angel's hideous trap, Atsushi Nakajima and his companions have been reduced to a terrorist group condemned worldwide through the reality-altering power of the Page.

The military police's strongest special unit, the Hunting Dogs, pursue their prey and tear it apart, driven by the convictions and price of dedicating their bodies to society. Their captain Ochi Fukuchi calls for the rise of the supranational armed security force, the Army of Mankind, to oppose a new age of terrorism.

Though anxious without his companions, Atsushi runs onward. Stumbling and falling, the pathetic stray dog follows a road where seeds of hope have been sown. Yukichi Fukuzawa and Ranpo Edogawa, the Agency's very foundations, watch for a chance to counterattack, as does Osamu Dazai, voluntarily imprisoned to discern the demonic Fyodor's schemes.

Six days remain until the destruction of the state planned by the Decay of the Angel. Can they seize the Page and defeat the unseen leader Kamui in time? “Is this the path you will live...?” The mastermind's identity is finally revealed. Friends and friends, past and present intersect. Everything is for the future.

Episodes 54–56 are included, with the fifth season's textless ending. The original first pressing announced a special digipack illustrated by character designer Nobuhiro Arai and a booklet; limited items are not guaranteed after supplies run out.
