With more than six million copies in circulation, Date A Live returns for its long-awaited fifth television anime season. Since the first season in 2013, the series has received four television adaptations, a theatrical anime and OVAs, supported by fans in Japan and abroad. Beginning in April 2024, season 5 promises developments surpassing the shocking conclusion of season 4.

Spirits appear as human girls but are beings of another kind. Their manifestations from a neighboring realm cause disasters called spatial quakes, leading people to regard them as humanity's natural enemy. Faced with their great powers, humans can eliminate them by force or date them and make them fall in love. Shido Itsuka can seal their powers by winning their affection and kissing them, saving both humanity and the Spirits. Now great upheaval approaches. DEM Industries, a giant corporation seeking Spirit power, launches an all-out attempt to kill him. A mysterious girl buried deep in his memory reveals her identity. Intertwining ambitions begin the greatest battle yet.
