Higurashi: When They Cry Anime

An entirely new story takes you to a Hinamizawa that no one yet knows. A new project begins for Higurashi When They Cry, the legendary series that once took the world by storm!

Far from the city, surrounded by nature that remains vividly untouched, lies the village of Hinamizawa. The village, which was once supposed to sink beneath a dam, still looks as it always has as it welcomes transfer student Keiichi Maebara. For Keiichi, who had lived in the city, the lively, peaceful days he spends with his friends in Hinamizawa should have been a happiness that would last forever. Until the day of Watanagashi, the village's annual festival, arrives.

June 1983. When the cicadas cry, everyday life suddenly comes to an end, and an unstoppable chain of tragedies begins.

This third Blu-ray volume contains episodes nine through thirteen, covering all five parts of the Tataridamashi arc. Promotional commercials are included as a bonus. Original first-press copies included an illustrated outer case, a storyboard, twelve illustrated hanafuda cards from the second set and a booklet. These physical extras depend on the copy supplied.

The cast features Soichiro Hoshi as Keiichi Maebara, Mai Nakahara as Rena Ryugu, Satsuki Yukino as Mion and Shion Sonozaki, Mika Kanai as Satoko Hojo and Yukari Tamura as Rika Furude. Chafurin voices Kuraudo Oishi, Toru Okawa voices Jiro Tomitake, Miki Ito voices Miyo Takano, Toshihiko Seki voices Kyosuke Irie and Yui Horie voices Hanyu.
