Humanoid Monster Bem 1968 Complete Blu-ray - Anime Memory Library Vol.129

'We want to become human soon.' The horror anime that captivated audiences with the battles against evil and the sorrow of Bem, Bela and Belo, three humanoid monsters who long to become human, comes to Blu-ray. This is the memorable original installment of the popular series that has been remade several times.

Nobody knows when they were born. In a dark, silent world, a single cell divided and multiplied until three creatures emerged. They were not human, nor were they animals. Yet within their hideous bodies lay the blood of justice. These beings were humanoid monsters: creatures who had failed to become human.

Bem, Bela and Belo were born from an attempt to create humans with supernatural powers who would fight for justice. Though ugly in appearance, their hearts were those of peace-loving champions of justice. Because they were humanoid monsters, however, people feared them, and they found themselves pursued by the police. Believing that good deeds would eventually make them human, the three continue their aimless travels. This first masterpiece portrays their battles against evil, inner struggles and grief.

The original first-broadcast version from 1968 is presented with an HD remaster of the main episodes. The two-disc set contains all twenty-six episodes, with approximately 668 minutes including the twenty-four-second new-program preview. An original Humanoid Monster Bem coaster and an explanatory booklet are enclosed. The series originally aired on Fuji Television from October 7, 1968 to March 31, 1969.

Kiyoshi Kobayashi, Hiroko Mori and Mari Shimizu feature in the cast, with narration by Yuzuru Fujimoto. Daiichi Doga handled planning and production. Specifications may change without notice.
