Ikebukuro West Gate Park Animation

Survive this Ikebukuro. With over 4.3 million copies in circulation, the signature work of Naoki Prize-winning novelist Ira Ishida, also adapted into a television drama and other media, began its television anime broadcast in October 2020. Ikebukuro West Gate Park depicts the young people based around the park outside Ikebukuro Station's west exit in a cool, stylish and sensational manner, winning enormous support across generations. This is the first Blu-ray box.

From carefully observed everyday scenes to the fierce combat of gang conflicts, this stylish, hard-edged youth drama brings Ikebukuro to life with high-quality animation.

Story: Makoto Majima is the son of a fruit-shop owner near the west exit park in Tokyo's Ikebukuro, commonly called Ikebukuro West Gate Park. Known as Ikebukuro's troubleshooter, he solves difficult cases beyond the police's reach, including yakuza-related crimes and gang turf disputes. In a neighbourhood attracting people from every walk of life, Makoto belongs to no organisation and treats everyone equally. Dangerous, exciting requests constantly find him. A city kind to everyone, Ikebukuro of love and peace. Yes, Ikebukuro is the best. As he keeps order again today, a troublesome case arrives that threatens the neighbourhood's peace.

The box offers lavish extras described as essentials for fans: a special outer case, newly illustrated digipak, special booklet and leaflet, a substantial Original Soundtrack Volume 1 CD and a special sticker. Video extras include the textless opening and ending sequences and web previews.
