A distinguished, handsome middle-aged man who lives with Pug Taro: the irresistible contrast is at the heart of this adorable comedy!

Mitsutaka Oji is 43, refined, gentlemanly and good-looking. Trusted by both his managers and his staff, he is excellent at his work: the ideal mature gentleman. But Oji has a secret he cannot tell anyone. He loves cute things far too much! He lives with plush toys of his favourite character, Pug Taro, and nothing makes him happier than spending time with them.

Although he treats his love of cute things as if it were a devastating secret, Oji works tirelessly to be a gentleman worthy of calling himself a Pug Taro fan. At 43, he meets Kenta, his first kindred spirit. Along with Naruto, the rival in the next department who always picks a fight, and his university-student nephew Masumi, who moves in with him, they gradually acknowledge one another's secrets and grow closer.

You can keep loving what you love, whether you tell other people about it or not! Having something you love makes life richer, and gratitude for a favourite character overflows. Oji and his friends show us something precious. Watch these endearing men quietly cherish the cute things they love, and let their story gently soothe your heart.

The characters include a wild-looking, intimidating designer who secretly loves cute things, a rival sales manager hiding his great love of cats, and a nephew newly returned from America who dreams of becoming a shojo manga artist. As reported in the original promotion on August 28, the show's hashtag had topped Japan's Twitter trends for three consecutive weeks, with viewers sharing how comforting and relatable they found it. Pug Taro merchandise repeatedly sold out after the first broadcast, prompting enthusiastic requests for more.

Story: Mitsutaka Oji heads the first sales department at COTRI, a company that works on office interiors. Divorced and living alone, he appears to be the perfect sophisticated manager, but secretly adores Pug Taro, a dog character. Cuddling his plush toys and composing little poems about Pug Taro are part of his blissful everyday life.

While trying a new Pug Taro capsule-toy machine, Oji catches the eye of a man who looks as though he might dance around Nakameguro. Flustered, he drops the rare Pug Taro capsule he has just won. The dancer-like stranger picks it up and tries to return it, but Oji flees without accepting it.

One day, Oji's nephew Masumi Nii arrives from America and stays with him until he finds a home. Afraid to let Masumi see his Pug Taro goods, Oji hides everything, from toothbrushes to towels, in the cupboard. A melancholy life without Pug Taro begins. Hoping at least to enjoy a small accessory, he searches his bag and realises his Pug Taro key chain is missing.

As he struggles through work, Wataru Naruto, manager of the second sales department, appears. Always irritable, Naruto considers Oji his rival. A remark by Oji's subordinates, Rio Moshina and Miku Usuma, infuriates him, and he demands that they get rid of the fan merchandise on their desks because it is unnecessary for work. Oji apologises for their comment but argues that favourite-character goods can improve motivation. Naruto then produces the Pug Taro key chain and asks, 'Oji, do you like cute things?' Can Oji escape this desperate predicament? To complicate matters further, Kenta Kawai, the dancer-like designer he met at the capsule-toy machines, appears at his company...
