KonoSuba comes to PlayStation 4

The popular television anime KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! 2, broadcast from January to March 2017, becomes a game.

Known affectionately as KonoSuba, this other-world comedy is based on the popular novels written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. Published by Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko, a KADOKAWA imprint, the series had reached ten volumes as of March 2017.

The protagonist is Kazuma, a game-loving shut-in who is reincarnated in another world after an unforeseen accident. As an adventurer in a world resembling an RPG, he spends his days completing quests with his party members: Aqua, a troublesome and hopeless goddess; Megumin, a mage with an overactive taste for dramatic fantasy; and Darkness, a female knight whose imagination never stops. Their abilities may be impressive, but the party is spectacularly dysfunctional.

The television anime was well received, with its first season airing from January to March 2016 and its second from January to March 2017. This game is based on the second season.

An original story

The game's original story follows the uproar caused by Kazuma's Steal skill. After a mishap involving Aqua leaves Kazuma and his companions in debt, they try every means they can to repay it.

Prologue

After Megumin finishes practising her explosion magic, Kazuma picks up a ring lying on the ground. Wiz examines it and identifies it as a magical item, although its details remain unknown. Thinking that he can sell it to help with living expenses if it proves valuable, Kazuma decides to have it properly appraised later. For the moment, he puts it on without giving it much thought…

He wakes up holding a pair of underwear!?

The next morning, Kazuma discovers a pair of underwear clutched in his hand. Whose could it be?

Could its owner be going without it right now? That might make things rather draughty. A gentleman before he is an adventurer, Kazuma resolves to find the owner and return the underwear.

Earn the money to lift the curse!

When Kazuma realises that he can no longer remove the ring, he asks Vanir to appraise it. The ring's curse causes his thief skill, Steal, to activate unconsciously under certain conditions. The underwear in his hand is another result of that curse.

What is more, its power is gradually growing stronger. Lifting the curse will also require an enormous amount of money.
