A new adventure game for the VR era

Developed around the concept of a new adventure game for the VR era, Last Labyrinth is a VR escape adventure in which you experience a world possible only in virtual reality and communicate with a virtual character.

Trapped in a mysterious mansion, you work with an enigmatic girl named Katia to solve a succession of puzzles and try to escape. You are restrained in a wheelchair and cannot speak. Katia speaks an unfamiliar language, so neither of you can understand the other’s words.

Through nonverbal communication, Katia acts on your behalf. Sharing a variety of experiences deepens your emotional involvement and lets you experience communication with a virtual character.

Following its digital-only launch in November 2019, the game reached second place in the PlayStation Store’s VR game rankings and first place in Steam’s VR game rankings.

Striking immersion

Director Hiromichi Takahashi, who worked on the Doko Demo Issyo series, and other veteran staff behind well-known PlayStation titles draw on their experience to create this high-quality VR game. The mansion’s backgrounds and numerous mechanisms are rendered with weight and intricate detail, while the characters feel as though they actually exist.

An experience that stirs your emotions

If you make the wrong decision when solving a puzzle, Katia suffers a terrible fate, and you then face the same awful situation. The shocking outcome creates feelings of guilt and a sense of unity with Katia. When you solve a puzzle safely, you may find yourself relieved that she is unharmed.

Suitable for a first VR experience

Because your character is restrained in a wheelchair, you can play while sitting in a chair. There are only two controls: pressing the switch in your hand and moving your head, allowing intuitive operation.

The publisher describes the game as causing very little VR motion sickness. There are no direct depictions of gore, so even people who find horror difficult can enjoy it.

Music

The theme song is composed by Hiroki Kikuta, who has created music for many games, including Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3 and Sōkaigi.

Original Collector’s Edition physical contents

The original Collector’s Edition brings together a theme-song maxi-single CD composed by Hiroki Kikuta and available only in this edition, a newly written original storybook, an original postcard and an original sticker, all in a special box. The included physical game is the standard edition. For this Used copy, the presence and condition of the physical extras depend on the individual item.
