Nioh Koei Tecmo Games

A demanding Sengoku-era struggle against death

Set in Japan at the end of the Sengoku period, a land overrun by uncanny phenomena, this dark fantasy challenges you to desperate battles against vicious yokai. Koei Tecmo Games brings its full strength to this major action RPG, designed to deliver a powerful sense of accomplishment.

Serious battles and an immense sense of achievement

Find a way to overcome a difficult situation and experience overwhelming accomplishment after a narrow struggle to the death. Battles use a system built around mastering Ki, with varied sword techniques enabled by changing stances. Players at any level can enjoy these serious encounters.

Japanese dark fantasy

The game takes place in a mysterious Japanese world inhabited by creatures from ancient folklore. Diverse yokai from traditions across the country appear, from monsters blocking William’s path to Guardian Spirits that aid him. The original announcement presented this Japanese approach to the genre as unique.

Real Japanese locations such as Dazaifu and Itsukushima form the backdrop for terrifying giant monsters and the Guardian Spirits supporting William.

A substantial original Sengoku story

Protagonist William is modeled on the navigator William Adams, who served Tokugawa Ieyasu and received the name Miura Anjin.

An original story centered on William develops against historical events at the end of the Sengoku period. Many historical warlords appear, and their involvement with William is a key part of the story.

Online cooperation and Revenant graves

Multiplayer through PlayStation Network lets you cooperate with other players to fight bosses. Across the stages, Bloody Graves mark places where other players fell and their resentful spirits rest.

Defeat the powerful opponents that emerge from those graves to acquire weapons and armor that can help you progress.
