Nioh 2 Complete Edition brings together the dark Sengoku action RPG Nioh 2, which had sold 1.2 million copies worldwide at this edition’s introduction, and all three major expansions in an all-in-one release.

Enjoy every addition, including new weapon types, scenarios, characters and Guardian Spirits.

Story

The year is 1555, some time before Tokugawa Ieyasu’s unification of the realm. Born between human and yokai, the protagonist lives in Mino Province, spending their days hunting yokai and working as a mercenary.

One day, the protagonist defeats a ferocious yokai, but their own yokai power also runs out of control during the battle.

The person who rushes to the scene and stops that rampage is Tokichiro, a travelling merchant who sells Spirit Stones.

The two rise through the Sengoku era like the guardian kings known as Nio. This is the beginning of the story of “Hideyoshi.”

All three expansions and the free updates

The Complete Edition includes The Tengu’s Disciple, Darkness in the Capital and The First Samurai in full.

The expansions add the splitstaff and fists, new scenarios set in the Heian period, new characters and Guardian Spirits, expanded difficulty levels and equipment rarities, and new endgame content.

The additional difficulty modes include Dream of the Demon, Dream of the Wise and Dream of the Nioh.

Equipment, Guardian Spirits, yokai, Soul Cores and yokai abilities added across all three expansions are included.

The game also supports the free expansion updates from the outset, including Demon Parade Picture Scrolls and the Stone of Penance.

Implemented in-game items include nine types of Demon Horde weapons, the Kodama Netsuke charm, the Demon Horde armour set and the Sudama Netsuke charm.

The weapons and Kodama charm correspond to the items originally offered with Nioh 2’s Digital Deluxe Edition; the armour set and Sudama charm correspond to the original PlayStation Store advance-order items.

Expanded yokai powers

Building on the previous game, Nioh 2 strengthens its yokai elements and further evolves the experience of a challenging game where death is ever present.

Become the half-yokai protagonist and fight through a chaotic Sengoku world overrun by yokai, using both the power of the samurai and the power of the yokai.

You can transform into a yokai yourself and use techniques taken from enemy yokai.

The Dark Realm

Yokai create the Dark Realm within the living world of the Sengoku period.

These areas restore yokai Ki while slowing the recovery of human Ki. For the half-yokai protagonist, this expands the choices available in battle and creates more ways to overcome an encounter.

Yokai stand in your path

Powerful yokai confront the protagonist. Understanding each yokai’s characteristics is the key to defeating it.

Battles against sinister yokai in frightening forms take the game’s responsiveness and sense of accomplishment to new heights.

Extensive character creation

Character creation and expanded online features broaden the ways to play, while the loot-collection elements are strengthened further.

Starting with gender, you can adjust fine details including facial contours, signs of ageing and colours.

Traditional details such as white face powder, blackened teeth and theatrical face makeup complement the Sengoku setting. You can also customize your appearance when transformed into a yokai.

Expanded online cooperation

Expeditions, the cooperative mode known as Tokoyo Doko, support multiplayer with up to three players.

Benevolent Graves are a new form of asynchronous cooperative play, offering a variety of ways to play.

New weapons and deeper loot collection

New weapons include hatchets and the switchglaive.

Alongside weapons and armour familiar from the previous game, Soul Cores—needed to equip yokai abilities—also become an important part of collecting and developing your equipment.

Upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version

The PlayStation 4 Complete Edition supports an upgrade to the digital PlayStation 5 Nioh 2 Remastered Complete Edition at no additional cost.

Upgrading this physical edition requires a PlayStation 5 with a disc drive and a network connection.

The PlayStation 5 version supports enhanced visuals such as 4K resolution and 120 fps, DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, and 3D audio, bringing greater immersion to the challenging Sengoku experience.

Cross-matching with PlayStation 4 players and transfer of PlayStation 4 save data are also supported. A network connection is required.

A compatible television or display is required for 4K or 120 fps gameplay.
