The Royal Selection cannot begin: a sixth candidate appears

An adventure game based on the popular television anime Re:ZERO - Starting Life in Another World arrives on PlayStation 4.

Using the first season of the television anime as its foundation, this tactical adventure lets you experience an original story fully supervised by the original author, Tappei Nagatsuki.

Original characters designed by Shinichiro Otsuka also appear. As in the original work, Return by Death plays an important role in the game system.

Story

About a month has passed since Subaru's life in another world began.

An emissary suddenly arrives to announce that the Royal Selection has been postponed. The reason for the delay is unknown.

The postponement of this momentous event, which will determine the next ruler, prompts Subaru and his companions to act. They return to the royal capital after some time away to investigate.

There, the existence of a sixth candidate becomes clear.

The Dragon Tablet records only five candidates for the Royal Selection. Who is the impostor?

Suspicion falls first on Emilia.

Assassination, betrayal and swirling conspiracies await. What unexpected ending lies beyond these unpredictable developments?

The game's four parts

He develops feelings for Emilia after she saves him from danger in that world. For her and the companions he loves, he repeatedly experiences death.

Emilia — voiced by Rie Takahashi

A beautiful half-elf girl with silver hair and deep violet eyes.

She is kind-hearted and cannot overlook other people's misfortune. However, she finds one reason after another to avoid openly admitting this about herself.

Beatrice — voiced by Satomi Arai

A girl dressed in an ornate gown.

She calls herself the librarian of the Forbidden Library, an isolated room in Roswaal's mansion.

She affectionately calls Puck “Big Brother” and adores him.

Ram — voiced by Rie Murakawa

The elder of the twin maids working at Roswaal's mansion.

She and her younger sister Rem maintain the vast residence—although Rem handles most of the work.

She initially appears arrogant and speaks quite harshly, but is deeply compassionate.

Rem — voiced by Inori Minase

The younger of the twin maids working at Roswaal's mansion.

She is particularly skilled at cooking, cleaning, laundry and sewing, and calmly completes the daily duties.

Felt — voiced by Chinatsu Akasaki

A blond-haired, red-eyed girl who made a living as a thief in the capital's slums.

Despite an environment as harsh as that of a street child, she grew up strong and resilient rather than becoming downtrodden, thanks above all to Old Man Rom, who raised her.

Crusch Karsten — voiced by Yuka Iguchi

The current head of the ducal House Karsten and one of the Royal Selection candidates.

A talented young woman who inherited the family leadership at an early age, she is regarded as a leading favourite among the candidates.

Polite and soft-spoken with everyone, she is always humble and has a manner that makes others want to protect her.
