PlayStation 4 River City: Rival Showdown

The heated battle begins again

An enduring classic comes back to life for the modern age!

River City: Rival Showdown, originally released for Nintendo 3DS, returns with even more power. It depicts the events leading up to the 1989 Famicom game River City Ransom, rebuilding the story and character settings from the ground up.

The nostalgic pixel-art graphics remain, now joined by new stories and online multiplayer support. Enjoy outrageous action where a fight is always welcome!

How you spend three days changes the ending

This prequel lets you experience the connections and conspiracies surrounding Reiho Academy that were never told in the Famicom version.

The way you spend the three days before the incident changes what happens on the final day!

Investigate the conspiracy, get into fights or sometimes simply pass the time...? Enjoy the activities you choose while keeping an eye on the steadily approaching deadline.

Each day is divided into daytime, evening and night, with different events appearing in each period.

A variety of modes packed with things to do

Alongside the main River City Ransom story mode, the game includes numerous revamped modes.

Fighting of DoubleDragon 2023 is a fighting-game-style minigame that lets friends battle it out. Choose from a total of sixteen characters in this substantial extra mode, which also supports online matches!

In addition to modes added after you clear the game, this release includes a special story introduced for this version.

A more accessible, modern remake of the Nintendo 3DS game

Expanded save slots, improved controls and higher-quality backgrounds make the game easier to play and bring it up to date.

The remake also adds an original story and supports online multiplayer.

Some modes can be unlocked by linking save data from the preceding game, Kunio-kun's Romance of the Three Kingdoms: Everyone Assemble!

Enjoy the world of the Kunio-kun series in this further-evolved release!
