Beyond the vast galaxy, two protagonists meet
When the two protagonists meet, the fate of the universe begins to change dramatically.
Star Ocean 6: The Divine Force was the newest title in Square Enix and tri-Ace's Star Ocean RPG series at its original release. The series began in 1996 and, before this entry, had produced five numbered games, one spin-off and one smartphone title.
The game features a story that combines science fiction and fantasy, a wealth of playable characters and side stories, and a battle system that delivers exhilarating combat with simple controls.
Raymond Lawrence — voiced by Subaru Kimura
Weapon: greatsword.
A young man from Verguld, a planet that does not belong to the Pangalactic Federation. He captains the transport ship Ydas for Lawrence Logistics, the company run by his family.
His favorite phrase is “It'll work out.” For his companions and his work, he sometimes takes reckless risks, leaving the Ydas crew constantly worried about him. He is easygoing and approachable, yet also possesses a keen merchant's intuition.
Because he does not belong to the Federation, he is not bound by its treaty protecting undeveloped planets. For better or worse, he also pays little attention to differences in social status. Laeticia welcomes this side of him, while Albaird remains wary.
Laeticia Aucerius — voiced by Inori Minase
Weapon: dual blades.
The princess of the Kingdom of Aucerius, which holds extensive territory on the undeveloped fourth planet of the Aster star system.
Bright and decisive, she is loved by many of her people for donning armor, wielding twin blades and running to help them despite her royal position.
Seeking to change the situation with a neighboring country amid continuing military tensions in recent years, Laeticia sets out incognito to find a certain person. During this journey, she meets Raymond, who has become stranded on Aster IV. The two decide to travel together to achieve their respective goals.
Albaird Bergholm — voiced by Natsuki Hanae
Weapon: chakram.
A knight of the Kingdom of Aucerius who serves Laeticia and is also her childhood friend, having grown up with her.
He excels both in semiomancy and in martial techniques using a chakram. His fierce loyalty keeps him constantly watchful over Laeticia's safety. His left arm is covered to the fingertips, and he sometimes makes gestures as though protecting it.
He is deeply suspicious of Raymond, whom they meet during their incognito journey. Unable to oppose Laeticia's wishes, however, he reluctantly allows Raymond to accompany them.
Elena — voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki
Weapon: transforming weapon.
A member of the transport ship Ydas's crew and Raymond's second-in-command. She manages operations across almost the entire ship. Her immense knowledge and calm, composed manner have earned the strong trust of both Raymond and the crew.
She is honest in all things. Although Raymond's tendency toward recklessness often surprises her, she holds his qualities as a leader in high regard.
Midas Felgreed — voiced by Hiroki Tochi
Weapon: cane.
One of the Kingdom of Aucerius's foremost semiomancers and engineers. Eccentric and intensely curious, his thirst for knowledge sometimes causes him to forget law and ethics. Yet he also takes great pride in never abandoning a job he has accepted.
He once held a high position in the kingdom, but withdrew from public service following a certain incident. His whereabouts and whether he is alive are now unknown.
Nina Deforges — voiced by Rie Takahashi
Weapon: handbells.
A young semiomancer from the Kingdom of Aucerius who can use the rare healing power of iatrimancy.
Her goal in life is to find a treatment for the illness that caused her father's death. She continues her own research while working as an assistant to a healer in town.
Cheerful and innocent, she throws herself into research with her strong natural curiosity, though her enthusiasm sometimes leads to mistakes. For a patient before her, however, she possesses the determination and initiative to endure any hardship.
Seamless battles
When you encounter monsters on the field, battle begins seamlessly. From the tops of sheer cliffs to the middle of town, the vast field becomes the stage for combat.
AP
Using skills in battle requires AP, which recovers naturally over time. Meeting certain conditions during combat can increase or decrease your maximum AP. Raising the maximum lets you use more skills.
Stop Mode
Battle unfolds through immersive real-time action, but you can also switch to Stop Mode. Pause the action to give allies instructions or change targets, taking time to work out your strategy.
Party
Choose up to four companions to form your party. You can switch the character you control in real time.
Consider each character's traits and compatibility with others to build the party you prefer.
PlayStation 5 upgrade support
The Japanese PlayStation 4 package indicates support for a PlayStation 5 upgrade.
