RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM Blu-ray Box Limited Edition

Ten years after the television broadcast, Mawaru Penguindrum is reconstructed, or RE:cycled, with entirely new material added for a two-part theatrical production celebrating its tenth anniversary.

Mawaru Penguindrum began television broadcasting in July 2011 as an original anime directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara. Its distinctive characters, based on original designs by Lily Hoshino, its increasingly mysterious question of what the Penguindrum is, and its world built with unusual visual imagery such as the Crystal World drew considerable attention. The theme songs by Etsuko Yakushimaru Metro Orchestra and Coaltar of the Deepers, together with ARB cover songs by the in-story group Triple H, also earned high praise.

Ten years after the television broadcast, RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM was released theatrically in two parts as a new project celebrating the work with everyone who had supported it from its original broadcast and everyone who had discovered and come to love it later. The twenty-four television episodes are reconstructed with wholly new sections; this box contains the two films rather than the original twenty-four-episode television series.
