Sasaki and Miyano Animation

An admired older student. A younger student who catches his interest. Feelings that begin to overflow. Sasaki and Miyano brings a refreshing story of high-school life to television animation.

The popular manga serialised on Gene Pixiv had passed one million copies across print and digital editions by October 2021. Its world has also expanded through the Hirano and Kagiura spin-off, novels, drama recordings and staged readings. The television anime began airing in January 2022.

Miyano, a fan of boys’ love manga who feels self-conscious about his feminine features, comes across a fight at school one summer day. Just as he gathers the courage to intervene, the slightly rebellious older student Sasaki stops him with a hand on his shoulder and steps in instead.

Afterwards, Sasaki seems to take a particular liking to Miyano. To Miyano’s surprise, he asks to borrow his favourite manga. Watching Miyano’s eyes light up as he talks about the stories he loves, Sasaki gradually finds himself drawn to him.
