Scarlet Nexus Animation

Will the scarlet bond bring liberation—or separation? Bandai Namco Entertainment’s original game Scarlet Nexus becomes a television anime from Sunrise, the studio behind the Mobile Suit Gundam and Love Live! series. Junya Enoki, known as Jona Basta in Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative and Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen, joins Asami Seto, whose roles include Chihaya Ayase in Chihayafuru and Asuka Takizawa in Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure. Characters wielding powers such as psychokinesis and pyrokinesis become caught in an extensive story of hidden truths, deep conspiracies and secrets embedded in their world.

In the new calendar year 2020, much of humanity is born with powers that allow thought and consciousness to affect the outside world. Life may appear convenient and peaceful, but grotesque beings known as Others descend from the stratosphere and threaten human lives. To fight them, the New Himuka government establishes the Other Suppression Force, an army of people with exceptional abilities. These powers manifest differently in each person, from fire generation to super-speed and invisibility.

Yuito Sumeragi, who possesses psychokinesis, was rescued from an Other attack by the force as a child. After enduring rigorous training as a volunteer, he finally reaches the day of his enlistment. Meanwhile, recruited newcomer Kasane Randall has long experienced strange recurring dreams. What do the words “Don’t let go of the red strings” mean? What are the Others, and what truths lie concealed behind this world? Yuito and Kasane are drawn into a destiny they cannot resist.

This volume collects episodes fourteen through nineteen in newly illustrated anime packaging with a special digipack and a thirty-six-page booklet. Audio commentaries pair Yumi Hara with Daisuke Namikawa for episode fourteen and Kengo Kawanishi with Yui Horie for episode sixteen. Video extras include the second-cour creditless opening, the first teaser promotional video and the first two trailer promotional videos.
