Sound! Euphonium Animation

Kyoto Animation portrays the modest yet special youth of high-school students who devote themselves to concert band!

A popular episode from the novel Sound! Euphonium: The True Story of the Kitauji High School Concert Band becomes a mid-length animated film. The new president of a powerhouse concert band faces her first major task: coordinating the members within the club!

The concert band has sixty-five members. Kumiko's days as president begin with requests for advice and problems breaking out among them. Can she successfully complete her first assignment? Tuning, OK!

Awaiting Kumiko as the new president is an internal preliminary round to select the team that will represent the school at the Ensemble Contest, commonly known as Ancon.

Kumiko works hard to make sure the preliminary round can take place smoothly, but with so many concert-band members, the problems never seem to end. She spends busy days as president listening to all kinds of concerns.

As the members choose their teams, Kumiko herself has not even decided which team she will join!

Video extras revisit the opening-day stage greetings and include the textless opening, special footage, a promotional video thanking audiences for the film's success, intermission shorts about familiar concert-band situations, the main trailer, another trailer and a teaser promotional video. Production-team and performer audio commentaries offer further perspectives on the work.
