Sukeban Deka TV Series

After forty years, Saki Asamiya returns in vivid form. The legendary television series that defined an era comes to Blu-ray, bringing her battles back to life.

Broadcast on Fuji TV between 1985 and 1987, Sukeban Deka became popular enough to inspire a social phenomenon and grew into three television series. It adapts the manga serialized in Hana to Yume between 1976 and 1982.

A girl becomes a student detective, armed with a special-alloy yo-yo bearing the cherry-blossom police emblem. She confronts the evil spreading through schools and dark organizations intent on controlling Japan. Its richly entertaining story and distinctive world helped create an enormous boom at the time. This emblematic series of the eighties now returns, reviving the legendary struggles of its successive student detectives after forty years.

The original Sukeban Deka was broadcast from April to October 1985. It quickly won the support of a broad audience and became a hit. This box brings together the complete record of Saki Asamiya's battles.

Video extras feature a farewell special collecting memorable, unusual and behind-the-scenes moments, along with a special compilation of Saki Asamiya's best scenes. The jacket features a newly drawn illustration. The original first-production booklet contains a new interview; this limited insert depends on remaining first-production stock and is not guaranteed.
