The watchword is “Thunderbirds Are Go!” The five Tracy brothers return to save people around the world from disasters and accidents! The second Blu-ray box of the reboot of the classic that sparked an explosive craze is here at last for waiting fans.

About the release The second season of the hugely popular Thunderbirds reboot, a CG animated series using tokusatsu techniques, arrives on Blu-ray and DVD. This second box contains episodes 14 through the final episode 26. The separately released first box, issued on December 8,2021, contains episodes 1–13. The season first aired on October 22,2016.

Highlights Thunderbirds returns through modern CG animation! The second season is loved by children worldwide. This animation is popular with adults and children in more than 40countries. In its home market of Britain, more than one in five boys aged 4–9 — approximately 500,000 viewers — watched season 2. Its highest-rated episodes attracted overwhelming support, beating such popular brands as Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers.

Eiji Hanawa, who plays Virgil, has voiced numerous roles, including Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, Nick Burkhardt in Grimm, Seg-El in Krypton and Yosuke Endo in ULTRAMAN.

Ayumu Murase, who plays Alan, works across a broad range of genres. He voiced the young protagonist in the 2019film Aquaman and Shalio in the animated feature Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection.

Tetsuya Kakihara, who plays Gordon, was born in Germany and speaks Japanese, English and German. His representative roles include Natsu Dragneel in FAIRY TAIL and Garma Zabi in Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN. KENN, who plays John, delivered a memorable performance as the voice of protagonist Wade Owen Watts in the 2018hit Ready Player One.

Story At the centre of the story is International Rescue. With saving human lives as its theme, the series depicts the team's courageous response to disasters and accidents. Founded by billionaire Jeff Tracy, International Rescue is operated by his five sons — Scott, Virgil, Alan, Gordon and John — using the state-of-the-art Thunderbirds machines.

Across land, sea, air and even space, they deploy to avert disasters and help people around the world. They are supported by Brains, the engineer who designs and builds all their rescue machines; security specialist Kayo; and London agent Lady Penelope.

They are neither an army nor a police force. Their mission is to rescue people in trouble. Although a rescue may stop a villain's actions, they never pursue villains. That is the role of the Global Defence Force, or GDF. International Rescue is known throughout the world, but its true nature remains concealed. The Tracys follow the rule of selfless heroism. Another reason for preserving their anonymity is to protect themselves from evil organisations seeking to acquire their technology.

The Hood plans to conquer the world by exposing International Rescue's secrets and stealing its advanced technology. He is also believed to have been involved in the disappearance of the Tracys' father, Jeff...

At the end of season 1, Kayo's secret was revealed, and the notorious Hood was finally brought to justice. A few months after his capture, International Rescue goes about its usual work of saving lives. But the arrival of a new villain calling himself The Mechanic completely changes their daily lives.

He is almost an anti-Brains, building terrifying machines with never-before-seen designs on an overwhelming scale. Unlike the greedy Hood, The Mechanic acts boldly while conceiving far darker plans. The Hood regarded the damage caused by his actions as merely the cost of business. The cold-blooded Mechanic takes the greatest pleasure in that very destruction.

His face is concealed by a mask covering his mouth, and his voice is electronically altered, leaving his identity entirely unknown. More sophisticated and better equipped than the Hood, The Mechanic wears a high-tech suit that both protects him and lets him control machinery directly. Wearing it, he can move the machines and vehicles he has built as freely as though they were parts of his body.

International Rescue suspects a connection between this mysterious, formidable villain and the Hood. But who is The Mechanic?! Will the battle against the Hood ever truly end...?
