Train to the End of the World Anime

Advance into the unknown and find your friend. The latest original anime from director Tsutomu Mizushima, whose many popular works include SHIROBAKO and Girls und Panzer, began broadcasting in April 2024. This third Blu-ray volume contains episodes 9–12.

Train to the End of the World is an original anime directed by Tsutomu Mizushima. Series composition is by Michiko Yokote, who has teamed with Mizushima on numerous productions including SHIROBAKO and Prison School. These two creators, known for handling subjects that never yield easy answers, bring together an apocalyptic world, trains and friendship. The combination of these distinctive elements launches an anime unlike anything seen before.

In a certain town in the suburbs, what appears to be an ordinary countryside community is anything but ordinary: something very strange is happening to its residents. Even amid these changes, Shizuru Chikura holds onto one strong wish. She wants to see her missing friend again. Shizuru and her companions set out into the world beyond on a train that had been abandoned and left motionless, without knowing whether they can return alive. What awaits at the end of the line of this train heading into the world's end?

Permanent video extras are a collection of commercials and the mini-anime Wanwan Train Doko e Iku?, Cars 7–9.

The manufacturer's first-production bonuses are a special case newly illustrated by character designer Asako Nishida, a newly illustrated digipak, a reproduction recording script for episode 12, a collection of production materials and a booklet. The reproduced completed script for episode 12, What Was Normal Again?, includes handwritten corrections to the script used during voice recording, offering a glimpse into the production process. These first-production items are conditional bonuses: their inclusion in the currently selected Amazon offer is not confirmed, and CDJapan marks the first-press extras as no longer available.
