Uramichi Oniisan Anime

Hey, good children! Do you like an older brother with two sides? Volume 4, the final Blu-ray volume of the television anime Uramichi Oniisan, which began airing on TV Tokyo and other channels in July 2021.

Uramichi Omota is the gymnastics instructor on the educational programme Maman to Together. Known as Uramichi Oniisan, he is a kindly big brother who smiles at the children. But his other face occasionally peeks through: life is exhausting and painful, and he does not want to do anything. Even the children are taken aback by the darkness of adulthood that slips out of his unstable state of mind.

Adults still look ahead, even when the world offers no hope and society's workings inspire despair. 'As an older brother on an educational programme, I want to meet those expectations.' This backward-looking hymn to life is for good children who have grown up.

The Blu-ray contains episodes 10-13. The enclosed CD, Maman to Together no Uta 2, features Endless Mosho, Gokkan Spiral and Shishoku de Meccha Oishikatta Pan Katte Kaeru to Futsu na no Nande, with ABC Taiso in its TV-size version as a bonus track. A booklet is enclosed.

Episode 13 features audio commentary by Hiroshi Kamiya as Uramichi Omota, Tomokazu Sugita as Tobikichi Usahara and Nana Mizuki as Utano Tadano. Original first-production copies featured special packaging newly illustrated by Gaku Kuze; this first-press packaging depends on the supplied copy and is not guaranteed.
