Welcome to ALI PROJECT’s dazzling world of real fantasy. Fantasia is the group’s first original album in a year, following the twenty-fifth anniversary of its major-label debut two years earlier. Whatever the theme, ALI PROJECT has expressed music in brilliant colours: provocative and challenging, graceful and solemn, sweet and sombre, with light and shadow sounding together.

The first note and voice are keys to doors hidden throughout everyday life. Music sounding within reality brings joy, sorrow and nostalgia from another world, inviting listeners to step beyond familiar scenery. Is it the scent of tuberose or the arms of thorns that beckons? Both shimmer beneath the moon, fragrant as a dream and feverish in pursuit of one.

Here the group reveals its true fantasy world more directly. Their shifting identities include “Black Ali”, rhythmic, dark and hard; “White Ali”, fleeting, soft, beautiful and gentle; and “Red Ali”, seductive, mysterious and passionate. Perhaps this vision of real fantasy introduces a new “Green Ali”.

The additional audio drama presents an original story written and read by Arika Takarano, with Mikiya Katakura providing its music and sound effects—an entirely new kind of recording for ALI PROJECT.
