Burning Kabaddi Stage & Musicals

The hugely popular manga serialized on Shogakukan's MangaONE becomes a stage production at last. This new-generation sports manga depicts the passionate drama of high school boys devoted to the little-known sport of kabaddi. Following its anime adaptation in April 2021, the story continues to build momentum with this long-awaited stage adaptation.

The production is directed by Shatner Nishida, known for his singular presence in the Yowamushi Pedal stage series. He teams up for the first time with rising scriptwriter Sho Kubota. Rui Tabuchi plays protagonist Tatsuya Yoigoshi in his first leading role.

Gifted with outstanding athletic ability, Tatsuya Yoigoshi was a star soccer player in middle school, earning the nickname Unbeatable Yoigoshi. When he enters high school, however, he cuts sports out of his life. One day, the kabaddi club comes to recruit him and forcibly takes him along to watch. Yoigoshi is overwhelmed by the fierce battle unfolding before his eyes.

Using only their own bodies in the ultimate game of tag, a new story of youth begins on stage.

The Blu-ray contains the 138-minute main performance and 103 minutes of bonus footage: MAKING OF Burning Kabaddi Stage, a Nokyo High School special cast roundtable and a Sowa High School special cast roundtable. A booklet is enclosed.

The Nokyo High School cast features Rui Tabuchi as Tatsuya Yoigoshi, Shota Takasaki as Masato Ojo, Kaiki Ohara as Soma Azemichi, Yuga Iwasaki as Kei Iura, Atsuki Kashio as Kyohei Mizusumi, Shunsuke Kobayakawa as Shinji Date, Takuya Kishimoto as Nobutaka Ban, Yuya Miyashita as Ryuta Seki and Yu Miyazaki as Yuki Hitomi.

The Sowa High School cast comprises Bishin Kawasumi as Ayumu Rokugen, Keisuke Kaminaga as Ren Takaya, Sousho Tomimoto as Shintaro Kizaki, Haruki Mochida as Yu Eikura and Taishin Hirano as Daisuke Muroya.

The original first pressing included a 2L-size group photograph of the full cast; this physical bonus depends on the copy supplied. Product specifications are subject to change.
